I Just Built My AI Avatar. Here's Why Every Recruiter Should Care.

My first instinct was to laugh. "Do I really need an AI me?" But then I realized: this isn't about vanity. This is about staying relevant in a market moving faster than we can keep up with.

The recruiter's dilemma

Here's the tension we're all feeling. Talent expectations are shifting. Candidates ask, "How AI-ready is your company?" Clients want proof: "Do you actually use AI?" Meanwhile, most of us are drowning in manual work: scheduling calls, personalizing outreach, updating pipelines, recording the same pitch over and over.

The irony? We're recruiting for AI-ready talent while doing everything the 2018 way.

Why an avatar changes the game

Using Nano Banana to create my avatar isn't about replacing myself. It's about multiplying my output while staying authentic.

Here's what it actually does:

  • Fast content, real voice. I script a 60-second thought on agentic AI or fractional leadership, and my avatar delivers it in under 10 minutes. No retakes. No hair-and-makeup days. Ready for LinkedIn.
  • Consistency at scale. Showing up once a week with a founder update signals I'm serious, present, and thinking about the space – even when I'm juggling 50+ candidates and 20+ clients.
  • Walking the walk. I'm in AI recruitment. If I'm not using AI tools to be more efficient, what story am I telling? Clients and candidates spot a fraud immediately. This ties directly to how candidates are actually using AI to stay ahead.
  • Fractional leadership in action. An avatar lets me show up more often without burning out – which is the literal promise of the fractional model.

The honest bit

This isn't a replacement for real connection. The hard conversations, relationship-building, and judgment calls – that's still 100% me. But weekly thought leadership, introductory pitches, and repetitive updates? That's where the avatar earns its place.

What this means for you

If you're hesitant about using AI tools in your own workflow, ask yourself: How are you advising candidates to position themselves? Are you telling them to build AI skills, experiment with agents, and show they're AI-literate? Then you need to do the same.

The market doesn't care if you're comfortable with new tools. It cares if you're relevant. And relevance in 2026 means adopting what you're evangelizing.

My avatar isn't perfect. But it's authentic, efficient, and proves I'm not just talking about AI – I'm using it to run my business better. Ready to explore top AI talent or AI job listings in the market?

If you're on the fence: build yours. The worst that happens is you learn something. The best? You free up real time for the work that actually matters: finding great talent and placing them with teams that get it.
